Birds of Prey is a series of runs that's possibly the most advanced in-bounds of the Epic resorts in Colorado. I've never waited more than a couple minutes for a lift here and the mountains are covered in awesome tree skiing. The most expensive and bougie, but that keeps the crowds down. I've heard they used to have some nightclubs, but not sure what that situation is now. This might be because I stayed on a Wed-Thu night, but there wasn't much for nightlife. It's a lot of blues, but the back bowls still have a great collection of blacks. The nightlife exists but it's pretty quiet - a couple bars in the resort village that close around 10 and then two real bars up the road with music / open later.Įxpensive, but it's the biggest resort so you've got the most options for skiing variety. There's pockets of good skiing on the back two peaks, but the main mountain is kid central. Across our locations, you will find a variety of world-class luxury resorts perfect for a relaxing spa vacation or adventurous mountain lodges to relax in after a day on the slopes. The most affordable to stay at, and the most boring as a result. Epic Pass Resorts With over 42 destination resorts and regional ski areas to choose from, you’ll find the perfect ski and ride destination. More isolated and harder to get to, haven't been so won't comment on the skiing. It's huge so you could spend a week there and not get bored of the skiing, it's got a lot of great higher altitude advanced terrain. This is going to have the best nightlife, there's a lot of bars. My perspective on each as an out of state visitor: It's a bucket list type of place as well as one of the toughest mountains to ski in North America. Overall Crested Butte's advanced/expert terrain is superior to Breckenridge. Crested Butte on the other hand will have little to no crowds cause it's a bigger pain in the butt to get to. I would never go there again over a holiday. Just make sure to avoid holiday weekends as Breckenridge gets absolutely mobbed. If you wanted to be closer to Denver at a place with a great town, solid expert terrain, and is somewhat affordable as well Breckenridge would be the other choice. In any event that would be my choice for your group based on your preferences. The resort conglomerate offers steep deals. The shout-out makes sense in light of Vails military programs. Watch as President Biden shouts out Vails Epic Pass during a speech at Colorado Springs, Colorados Air Force Academy graduation on June 1st. I happen to like Crested Butte's town better than Telluride's. Heres one that no one at Powder had on their 2023 bingo card. It is somewhat affordable there, the village area at the base is a little sleepy but the town which is 5 minutes away is awesome. That mountain needs around 70 to 80 inches of snow to fill everything in. You'd want to go February or later to make sure Crested Butte's best terrain is open. The terrain there special and awesome too if the mountain is fully opened. ![]() Crested Butte would be a close second and where I'd recommend. ![]() Telluride is where I'd recommend for your group but it's not going to work on the Epic local pass.
